Thanks for the answers, everyone!

Your pet only knows one language, if that many.

As a general rule, no pet should be able to speak any language. There are probably some sentient exceptions to that though.

Does ventriloquate ever work with pets? Is this why it doesn't seem to for me?

Yes, this is why ventriloquate does not generally work with pets.

Just a completely relevant and related point I'd like to make (and disclaimer as such before I do so):

You'd never know if you had or not. Just like it appears to you that you are speaking fluently in, say, Firmyrn at Fair, your emotes would appear to you to be flawlessly executed as well. OTHERS would see the incomprehensible gestures thing.

What!?

... you're messing with me, right?

I would demand an explanation, but it has preceded the bad news I had no knowledge of.

Hey, Immortals? What are the chances that you'll change this so that emotes always work? Don't you think that the playerbase has matured to the point of not using emotes as the "say" command?

LaeZ, what OA is saying is that you don't notice your own mistakes.

Just like in IRC where you are not truly receiving PRIVMSGS the server sends to channels on your behalf and your client simply echoes them locally, so too do your spoken words go through different and more efficient routes than words you hear from others.

Yeah, I get that part, but (unless I'm misunderstanding, as I often do), I think OA told me that if I'm speaking in a tongue that I'm not mastered in, and I use one of my emotes, there's a chance that everyone else sees that stupid gesture line instead?

Please forgive me for repeating the question cause it interests me as well:

Quote:
To ensure that the emote gets to the other side 100% of the time,
Do all the receivers of the emote + The emoter have to know the particular
emote language at mastered rank ?

That would be terrible cause I know people who use emote-pemote a lot, including me.
