Know what else is mind-numbingly boring? Sitting in the river because I killed you for not enchanting my gear.

Same here.

This is what I'm getting at the whole time!

As an aside, do you think someone who only ever settles for 80 enchants because of this, moving up to 120, is going to affect the status quo on any level anyway? It doesn't even really affect your resistances so much to be worth the time (on any level), but if you have the time to give... what's 40 more when you're already doing 80? The point is the people who ever get to 80 in the first place. Those people won't change, honestly. The people who want 80 get 80 no matter who or how they get the enchants. It's not something that will change, because of the availability we have now. People with 80 going to 120 are inconsequential in more ways than one.

Oh well, I think I've gotten my point across for the most part now. It's all a hub-bub about some time big D won't spend making any enchanting change within my character's lifespan, which I imagine will imply my playing timespan.

You know, there could be an IC solution to this.

Like priests/sorcs not being pushovers, or by charging for enchantments (by pushover, I meant their personality, not their combat ability).

My last enchanter had a loving, caring patron. We had a system.

We'd never enchant something without a next-best alternative, and adopted the idea that when we had a chance, we'd enchant another alternative until it either got a little better or was destroyed.

This created a nice upgrade cycle I felt happy to be a part of, until the jloots. :P
