btw, warlocks who aren't making liberal use of the zap command in pvp are newbs.

there’s not a single non-newb player that's going to run around holding wands in both hands zapping all the time in PVP

You -do- realize that you are just repeating what I said, right?

Ever notice how you come across somebody once in a while that you shouldn't have fecked with?

. . .

That's me.

I'll get back to you in a couple weeks, then. Good day, pusscake.

No I wasn't repeating what you said, unless you had trouble reading what I wrote. Also, see what I said about the name calling? These are the exact people I was talking about the supposedly give stellar forum advice, which is why I avoid posting because they can't avoid flaming someone who's truly trying to help a new player. Hence why he's had several forum names deleted and been forum banned how many times? Funny that I'm still rocking the same forum name I started with and never had a forum ban.

If you want Baldric's advice, take it. If you want my advice, take it. If you want EZE's advice, take it (hehe, I get it, it's funny because he actually didn't say anything). All I was ever trying to point out is the original poster shouldn't just take advice from people who forum troll. You want to learn what's best for your character? Here's the best advice I can give, don't let other people tell you what's best for you, especially the people that said they're not the ones to be "fecked" with...

protip2: When I say ridiculous things, it's often because I'm quoting movies.

protip3: You shouldn't wait so long between hair cuts, you cheap son of a Bish.

protip4: Don't use double negatives, or I'll get confused. Also, you might want to read some logs. Search for "xaaln" on [REDACTED]

Wait, how do you know I don't get my hair cut very often? Are you stalking me?

I do not have enough experience to advocate a specific number of Art, but I've done a couple of personal experiments. While not extensive enough to be called a proper test, they did give me a sense of trends.

I leveled a warlock until I had 9 trains. I selected 6 types of enemies and cast Burning Hands on each enemy 100 times (for a total of 600 casts). The average rate of partial and full resistance was 15%, 17%, 11%, 14%, 15%, and 19% respectively.

Without raising my level, I trained my Art to 9. I proceeded to cast Burning Hands on the same 6 types of enemies 100 more times (for a total of 600 more casts). The average rate of partial and full resistance was 5%, 8%, 7%, 7%, 4%, and 9% respectively.

In conclusion, art only works on burning hands and is therefore useless.

If Art functions the same for other reflex based spells, then it may reduce the average amount of casts it requires to kill any given NPC. If this is the case, then it might be a higher priority than Intelligence at the earlier levels, if you are going to invest in Art at all.

I have trouble saying a warlock should do anything other than max int naturally first.

This comes from someone who adopted a "I'll leave my int below max as a caster and rely on readily available items" approach to a sorc.
