 Post subject: Skins with enchants?

I'm not sure how much imbalance this might cause, but what if the skins of certain high-level creatures came with some innate enchantments (either consistent or random)? You could cap it off at, say +3 for balance purposes (and include stat mods as possibilities). Maybe red dragon skin would tend to increase your reflex saves whereas mithril lion skins would tend to increase your dex.

On the one hand, I know there's already a bunch of pre-enchanted gear that is frequently available because of the relatively low player count. On the other hand, there's really no reason at all to wear cool skins these days because they're so much of a pain to enchant.

Thoughts?

I'm absolutely sure it is one of those ideas that's hardly something I was the first to suggest, but yes. I've been suggesting that skins come with enchants based on their source's race or some other predictable factor for some time now.
