I liked the title of the thread... the content wasn't what I expected.

Other alternatives aside, Circle of Holy is tuned too high. Even if the underlying objective was to encourage grouping, not many small groups of player characters can defeat up to 3-4 non-player character berserking warriors. Once they are consumed by rage they deal so much damage. In addition, Headbutt also lands fairly often now, which often knocks out the 'tank' entirely.

Suggestions: Please split up the non-player characters to 'pairs' of Shaman and Barbarians, or if a third must come into place, have them lined up in a column rather than two in front. So one can rescue the other similar to Bakemono Caves but not overly too powerful to learn there.

Finally, if the staff is persistent regarding the massive grouping of the non-player characters, then please at least decrease the respawn timer. When a group of player characters finally large enough to level there safely, there simply isn't enough of them to go around, therefore creating a lot of downtime. This is hopefully not intended. Thank you.

I'm glad Minette knows how to put things more eloquently than I do.

My sorc Elshare used to be able to solo there in the old days.

And sorry, Lae!

Priests, sorcs, warlocks and shaman can solo the groups there. I've done it with all but one of those: When I GM'ed my priest there I could clear out the entire hall of the strong and meadhall solo between repops, and that's a LOT of experience even at distant CHA. With a shaman it's nice to have backup in case you get headbutted. I bet a scout could solo level the groups also.

A melee class with ANYONE else alongside them can solo it, unless they're wearing crap for armor, and even then if they're wearing crap for armor they can probably still solo it.

In summary, you're doing it wrong. Also there are a lot of other places.

Let's face it, it's not hard to reach, it's high level and it has a decent repop timer. Even if some classes find it hard to level there there would be little problem finding another willing to help.

Though I am not sure that second row characters will find leveling there to be easy. I'd hate to see what would those throwing axes from a furried centaur barb would do to a sorceror.

A lot...A helluva lot to a poor clothie. :P I was levelling Ixy there at one point in time (my old necro) and had a limb severed from 100% in one throw.

Unless I have a certain combination of advantages that you don't have just from race/class I don't go there anymore. If I'm going to bother finding a group so I can survive training I'll go someplace better and if I want to solo there are other places that are far less painful. It did need a little toughening from the original, but I think who ever worked on it went a tad overboard.

If a sorc gets hit by throwing weapons in the circle he is really really doing it wrong.

It's incredibly easy as a lock. Just sayin'. My remember when, however, is the old Cave of the Dead in Ayamao, prior to it being the Outpost. I remember being dragged on a trip by some sprite and ending up at the Temple of Murder with him soloing Zshar the Murderfiend or some crazy powerful undead. I had no clue then...
