Ninjas would work perfectly with the old Zhenshi. Where else would we put ninjas as the point of origin? Selkwood? Will need Ninja village somewhere!

Wouldn't a ninja monk be a bit of a oxymoron, let alone a sprite in the fist? I mean, sprites aren't exactly the epitome of discipline. Also, ninja's were known to be master's of marshal arts, but not as a light aura'd adventure class. At least I don't think so. That would be a bit more of a samurai idea. And even then they were known as thugs from time to time.

This may have just been a joke and I may be taking it too far, so feel free to tell me so if I am.

I just think having a ninja class would rock us like a hurricane. Masters of throwing weapons, swords and daggers. Sneak, hide and maybe even camouflage as well. There's even a certain cabal skill that would fit a ninja perfectly. Disguise, maybe a smoke bomb skill so they could "ninja vanish". I mean, the ideas are endless. Can you tell I've been sitting on this one for a while too? :D

Actually ninjas and monks aren't so far apart. Feudal Japanese stories/rumors about monks living in the mountains who actually practiced "ninja arts" are the inspiration behind the "hand signs" you sometimes see ninjas like the Naruto or the Ninja Gaiden guy do.

Anyway there is already a ninja class, it is called "rogue." The only thing they are missing to make them truly ninja is tumble.

I will not discount what you are saying at all, as I am certain you have done your homework and you know what you're talking about. However, ninja were primarily used as assassins. Rumors and tales of them having to take their own lives if at any point there were seen and unable to slay the person who saw them almost immediately were not uncommon. Ninjas were the type to be sent on missions of the highest secrecy and importance and trained in the arts of disguise and deception (know as Hensōjutsu), distraction and invisibility (known as Chōhō and Shinobi-iri, stealth and espionage). Ninjutsu does have training in weaponry so not only would the ninja know how to thwart a foe, no matter what weapon they were using, but also so that if need be they could pick up any weapon (makeshift or not) and be able to utilize it to it's fullest extent. Ninjutsu also trains those in the arts of knowing and bonding with one's environment (known as Chi-mon). Check out wikipedia's list of the 18 skills that at least modern ninjutsu trains people in.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninjutsu#18_Skills

I admit that authentic and ancient forms ninjutsu are either lost or sealed away in the backwaters of Japan and perhaps China, but what is studied today is actually quite extensive. The use of hand and feet claws for scaling walls and such, pyrotechnics, horsemanship and even the manipulation of politics.

I will also admit that to attempt to put in a class with such versatility and extensive training would probably be a bit overpowered to say the least. I definitely agree with Enishi in the fact that a ninja would deffinitely require the skill tumble. However, I think they could also use camouflage and other such concealment, entrapment and escape skills and techniques. If not at least that, perhaps some equipment meant only for rogues where they would be able to (of course on a very limited or complex basis) attain physical invisibility. Perhaps a ninja outfit (of course not worded so bluntly)?

Wikipedia wrote:
Chōhō (諜報?), literally meaning "secret information" or "intelligence", is the art of espionage, and one of the 18 fundamental skills of the Togakure-ryū school of ninjutsu. It was one of the most significant as the main duties of the ninja were spying and sabotage.

Not exactly light aura stuff to me, but then again that is just my two copper. Ninjas are from real life history, so I don't exactly expect a ninja class to pop as one of the choices to play as tomorrow, but I think a lot of people agree that is would be incredibly fun. Then again, I think a great deal of fun and essential things should have been added. Orcs as a playable race for example, as well as goblins.
