I have been mulling some ideas over in my head for quite some time now, and seeing as how I've been playing a fair amount of dark aura characters lately, I had a combination of question and suggestion.

Since this deals with cabals, I will do my best to refrain from mentioning or discussing anything that should not be mentioned or discussed in the open forums. However, I still wonder if there could be any form of information shared that would not be considered "too much".

I understand that the Midnight Council is a cabal, as well as a tribunal. This itself is open information. My question is why, though? I do not expect any answers containing confidential information. I also understand that most tribunals are having a rough time right about now. Their numbers are fairly low, so they probably have a high turn over rate due to that. With a lack of a tribunal war system, people do not feel as compelled to join (at least that's how I see it, but I could be completely wrong) unless they are bored veterans or are new to the game. I've been playing several years and have only been in one, and briefly at that. I didn't care for it.

Regardless of which, I am wondering why the Midnight Council is the black sheep of the cabal and tribunal world. Since the Midnight Council runs the Imperial military, wouldn't it be fun to spawn some sort of global RP session where there is some sort of resistance to the current Imperial Military system? People RP about how cruel the Legionnaires are all the time. You could then perhaps implement a tribunal named "The Resistance".

I am just coming up with off the top of my head. The whole reason to this thread is why this is the way it is, and is it changeable. Would anyone want this to change? Does anyone really care?

A change would require a change of one particular skill in the Midnight Council's arsenal, but I'm certain the IMMs could come up with something to replace it with. Yet again, another opportunity for some more global RP session. When in doubt, make a SK Bonanza out of it!

who the **** are you?

you post like an oldie
but talk like a newbie

I'm perplexed.

The answer to your question is that the system you are attempting to analyze came into existence after the elements within it did. You should know that if you've been around more than three months.

This game doesn't support player-created and administered groups like your "la resistance" would require.

I'm with Evena, though. "Global RP" is an outdated, silly idea and should be abandoned entirely. All it creates is elitism that, from the outside, registers as something contrived and lame.

Just come out and say it.

"I want to play a _______________ who is in a ____________ that ____________."

I'm very, very tired and haven't slept in days, but I think I understand what you mean. I wasn't trying to sound like a newbie. Keep in mind that I've just returned from a break consisting of several months, so I apologize if my posts make little sense to others.

I wasn't suggesting that anyone from the player-base create anything along these lines. Not at all. Perhaps I shouldn't have said "you could create" and said "the IMMs could create" said tribunal. I'm not saying a "La Resistance" idea would be a good idea. As I said, it was off the top of my head. That was only thing I could think of as an example at the moment, seeing as how the Midnight Council is the head of the Imperial military. I don't know how one would go about splitting something like that. Perhaps that is where my idea should have stopped.

I do happen to agree with you on the aspect of elitism in global RP sessions. I was around for the last global RP session and I was completely left out and didn't even have the option to join in. I even had a GM character in a cabal at the time and I didn't get a chance or invitation to join in. Again, it was just an idea.

I'm not sure what this means.

If it is what I think, then I could make one hell of thread/post all about what I want to play as and all that, but it would end up longer than my.......well, it would end up really long. I don't think anyone cares one iota about what I want, though. Saying all of that is not going to result in a PM tomorrow morning, inviting me into all the things I want to be part of.

I'll just shut up now.

I don't feel like tribunals are significantly less represented than cabals right now although it has always been popular to say so. I don't think the forums are the right place to spawn the lighty-izing of the eastern empire - remember, when the Druids decided to hug necromancers, that was a surprise to the easily outraged forum lurkers because it happened based on in-game actions. If you have an inspired idea, go for it. Get a bunch of loyal followers to be "the resistance" for an RL year or so, listen to a bunch of muse together, kill the heck out of the MC, and see what happens. I realize that's a lot harder to do in game than it is to post on the forums but I also think it's the right way to go about it.
