One of the biggest gripes I have against warlocks is that pretty much the best wands in the game are darkie-only.

Only because that lot of the spells are darkie only. The Paladin spell set which I believe only has 2 spells that are the only unique spells to the white aura community. Necromancer has a larger unique spell base, coupled with the Hellion's.

In this instance I'm talking about spells that aren't darkie only. Far from it.

In that case, your point is valid.

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is alignment restricted from using the sweet wands in the game.

I made a giant merc specced in halberd, and I still have kept him from auto-deletion just because I'm awesome. He's champion.

I think I met him on Tuckory. How did halberd work for you? Apart from sucky availability.

I'm listing the only remotely viable reaching weapons. I guarantee you that you will never find a warrior class using a naginata or a halberd.

I totally forgot about battlewhips.

This is funny, simply because there are at least a dozen available battle-whips that are made out of energy/water and do magical damage. I've played 2 mercs spec'd in b-whip. Wouldn't be surprised if it's more like 15+ available. And there's a 2-handed one which is pretty easy to get. And when you're talking about a warlock, b-whip is more than enough to ream them.

Also, the two best offensive wands in the game are darkie only. No other wands in the game even come /close/ to the power in those two. 16 Overpowered charges of Cone of Cold and Acid blast.

Though the best wand by far is the wand of vortices. Not darkie only. And whatever IMM added those completely broke every single class with the wand skill.

By the way. Do the darkies need a sorc?

No! They have a few.

It was okay. Hurt like crap while training, but never got more than 3 attacks even hasted (I'm keeping him around because I'm pretty sure it will cap at 4 at GM.) I trained with Tressa, she would aim upper and I would aim lower, and I still always got the kills on the NPCs (typically lopping off legs after 1-2 hits.)

I never PvP'd to any extent with him, but I have a feeling that even with good enchants, frenzy and mood aggressive that a halberd just won't have the accuracy to cut it against mood defensive opponents. I really just rolled him because I wanted to play a character that did the maximum possible damage out of a single strike (ignoring HoL nonsense), and a giant halberd specced hammer merc seemed pretty fitting. I would have rolled barb instead of merc, but I haven't played many mercs and I figured that halberd would never hit unless it was a spec anyway. I assume that pretty much any fight with him would be a huge dice roll because if 3-4 shots hit a limb it would more than likely lop it off.
