Okay.....I just started a character in the relatively new area that is the Northern Wastes newbie area. I come across this item that I thought seemed harmless, so I picked it up and put it on.
I am certain many of you are laughing at me already, just from reading the title of the thread. That's perfectly alright. I can see how this would be funny from a different point of view. However, my problem does not lie with my character. I have the knowledge and experience to solve the problem.
My problem is that a newbie might not have the knowledge, know-how, experience, resources and what-not to solve this problem. With this item on, you cannot speak, yell, eat, drink or anything else. Furthermore, it bars you from approaching a healer to buy an uncurse spell, since it's cursed and you cannot remove it.
Really? I mean.......REALLY? Come on guys. I had a great deal of respect for the newly remodeled Norther Wastes newbie area. I can tell alot of hard work and effort went into it, and it shows. Wonderful scripts and environmental interactions. I just think this item is a bit much for a newbie area. This is where people, who don't understand the game, delete in frustration and don't return to the game for a long time, or ever.
I had a similar experience on a different mud where a newbie area had waterskins lying around everywhere. I picked one up, drank from it and died because it had urine in it. I look back at that now and laugh my [REDACTED] off. I deleted the character and never went back to the game.
I just thought I would mention this. I'm not QQing by any mean, as it's not a big deal to me. I just think it might be for someone else with less patience and understanding of the game.
P.S.>
NOW I found out you can't even cast spells with it on. This is BS, yo.
