When someone gets the victory buff, that means the system has been used as intended. Raiding used to be overall much harder than it is now. Its not easy now by any means, but it is much less lethal. Now the danger of death should come from your enemy, not the defenses they leave up when they're logged out.

They don't leave defenses up when they're logged out. The game does.

And those defenses are still exponentially easier to deal with when there aren't any defending PCs online, whether sleep is broken or not.

Right, and your enemy can raid with the same ease. The VICTORY bonus affect is the reward for using the system properly and winning. Loss of relic, death, and retreat are the possible consequences for losing. Victory can apply for defenders or attackers.

Also, the effect goes into play when the inner guardian falls, not turning in the relic. Or, you get it when you stop people from entering your hq, so far as I can tell. Maybe its just when you keep a guardian from dying, whether or not its the inner or outer so long as their are people on-line on both sides. And no, my char is not in a cabal. :P When I was Gussin, we had the victory effect for like a week from stopping people from raiding the hq.

Correct. The duration and size of the bonus corresponds to the odds faced. Win against greater odds and the affect lasts longer and is larger. A week is the maximum duration, but that's pretty sweet for a buff to hp that cannot be dispelled.

As a trib character I did not get the Victory bonus after aiding in a successful raid.

I used to get the buff with independent characters. I think what Archie is saying is that in the instance you're describing there might not have been enough enemies logged in to warrant the bonus.

Alternatively, it could be buggy.
