Why not just pick the lock with your bard character?

Or recall?

I tried picking it. Failed about 10 times with P.lock being at very good and a lot of messages saying the guards are too close. Couldn't pick it.

Secondly, I couldn't recall because it'd just send me to the inn.

And finally, not everyone can kill the keyholder as (A. my char is a pacifist, for the most part and doesn't kill over trivial matters. And B. what if you're a lightie?)

I don't think I tried askin the guard to open up though.

I see lots of good ways out of Nerina here. I think the only way you could really get stuck is if you are a true newbie. I don't know if I'll make any changes here, but it is pretty far down the priority list.

Those gates aren't pickable anymore, not sure when exactly it was changed but it's been at least 6 months.
