I say just make that skill as strong as gore with the bash effect it works and it would be cool.

Skill: Rend

A wicked slash across the mid section of your foe causing moderate damage and a bleed affect causing more damage over time. A critical hit causes the total sum of the bleed damage in one bulk some with the initial strike damage.

Technical Part, Takes a big percentage of your PE, and can not be used again for 5-6 rounds, pretty much a 1-2 use kill in encounter. Would help buff the lacking DPS issues the melee classes of this race encounter at higher levels.

It could also be the lack of griffon EQ, i think the best they get is diamond? minus the sophus stuff which takes 3 people to just get??

I really don't want to see griffons get more eq slots. I want to see them get skillz to even things up. The concept behind griffons is no eq slots. They get enough as is.

You look at any coat of arms or anything, and no griffon is wearing armor. They don't wear armor.

How about instead of giving them armor give them another skill that doubles their toughness at master.

http://freethesaurus.net/s.php?q=toughness

Choose one that fits, make it a griffon only skill at master...but where would you learn it? The other thing that could work is, instead of griffons getting innate toughness, they get innate _____ (see url), and have to train toughness at master, unless they are a barbarian, which learns it at jman.

The bonuses from _____ and toughness stack, and are equal, effectively doubling the griffons toughness.

P.S. I don't care either way, just thought I'd try and contribute instead of the usual troll.

And then we come back to the Sorc's decked in heavy armor from ages past. You want a tank of a spell caster with their innate abilities and immunities?

I think there needs to be a rule that if you don't have a long standing solid reputation in PvP and a firm grasp of mechanics you shouldn't be allowed to suggest game affecting changes, period.

That said, griffons are fine. There is zero reason that the race needs a buff - with the addition of toughness it was already a major buff to the race. If you want to play a race/class combination that requires very little preperation then play a griffon. If you want to play something that requires you to actually put effort in to your character, play something else.

It's that simple.

By your rules, the Implementer might not even be up to par. :P
