Is there anything on the slate regarding a bard tournament? The current Bard hero has been MIA for ages now.

I doubt there is another tournament planned for anytime soon. If that were the case they would have to do one for most of the classes again because the old heroes are either age-dead or long gone.

Technically the next competition should be warlock based on the timing, though others have suggested mercenary should go next based on the number of characters in the class. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Contrary to popular belief, it is the PLAYERS of the Heroes that organize these events and not the IMMS. With the inherent problem of some Heroes just not caring (ie Necont) or just becoming inactive, it is hard to get another Hero to organize an event for a class, when they are trying to focus on planing their own classes tournament.

Like mentioned before, alot of the agreement from the Heroes on what class to do next is how many of said class are being played. Take mine for instance, few paladins around, mean other Heroes are reluctant to approve a Paladin Hero Tourney. Remember, for the most part we are a council/committee and there is no one person who directs us. I am sure you all know how that can translate into actionable work with Heroes like Necont who just dont give a [REDACTED] nor willing to help but always seem to be willing to complain about the process along side others.

Perhaps we should look to Necont for an actionable solution to this problem since he seems to criticize the process the most.

I kind of agree. I believe that heroes should have to meet an hourly requirement. Ie 50 - 100 hours of gameplay or so to be eligible to participate. Really it doesn't make sense that a person can literally pop out of nowheres and just become hero. That's bogus.

Edit:

It's not fair to the people who have put in a ton of effort into their character when most events are PK oriented and some vet with more mechanical knowledge rolls one and wins em with the phat lewts.

I think that it would be relatively stupid to recognize someone as a "hero" if they aren't even remotely capable of defending their title through force, too. The problem with the hero tournament in the past was that it was essentially a giant popularity contest and required very little effort at all to win the title - take Falgos for example. Algon and Rial had every newb they came across wearing belts to produce hero tokens just to tip the scales.

The system as it is now is a lot better than it used to be but yes, it could still use some work.

I don't think there is a way to make the hero thing worked out so everyone will be happy with it. The competitions I took part in and witnessed have always been fun.

I liked the old system. Level up to 50, level up one more time. Kill the SOB with the title and take it.

At least.. I think that's how the OLD OLD way worked, but I might not remember correctly...

I would love to have actual coded Hero benefits. Level 51 was a perfect one.

. . .

How about an item that will remove all negative effects and restore you to perfect HP/ME/PE on command even when you're prone?
