I would love to have actual coded Hero benefits. Level 51 was a perfect one.
Here Here! Level 51 FTW!

The only question I have is, what benefit does a level 51 have? I mean, I understand the hero amulets looking cool and stuff, but does another level really do anything? It wouldn't really be visible except to the person in the score chart and such right?

I have always seen the hero tourny as a big E-peen stroke. We all know how important it is to stroke the E-peen.

Two things.

1) The whole point of video games is to stroke e-peen mez.

2) DO NOT POST WHILE DRINKING. That should settle any questions about my posts from yesterday. My kids are at summer camp and I had a lot of rum and coke.

Hero level came with immunity to thirst, hunger, summons, gates, and there's an IMM command called beep that came with it as well. The amulets have improved, but certainly aren't perfect.

Now liturgical/Catholic people can drink freely, us WASPy folks can drink on the down low occasionally, but I -know- Mormons are not supposed to drink.

Since the thread is about a bard tournament, and the bard hero.. Something that's been nagging at me for a long time is how Tyna got the hero title to begin with. I've asked around IC and found out that Tyna didn't even win the tournament.. can't remember the character that did off hand other than he had a weird name and basically won by default. Anyway I had assumed maybe Tyna was a runner up and it was passed down. If that's the case I was curious why it's not passed down for other classes.

I didn't know it had immunity to summon/gates... o_O Though it was much easier to summon/gate in the old days when enchanting wasn't what it is now and the forms of protection were much different.

I think the beep command basically paged an IMM for something that the hero though was useful. They also had the ability to see what Imms were online if they had their viability level set to 51.

It was also a requirement that you reach "may advance to 51" before you could ascend to that status. Being that you have to reach there via rewards anymore it would definitely make being a hero something to work towards.
