I believe how old a character can be before he age dies also affects the xp curve. Elves have the highest charisma, but since they also have the longest longevity they take a bit more xp to advance at each level.

That whole thing Rodwen said was pretty useless.

Except for the fact that it was correct. If you don't know the game and it's areas, like a newbie, then high charisma won't matter. You won't know where to go to continue receiving the high bonus xp that comes with it, because you'll red out the area too fast, and unless you find the right people to ask where to go next, you could get stuck. This happened to me once. In order to make use of the bonuses from high charisma, you have to know a lot of places and when to go to them, which I highly doubt a newbie would know.

i have not noticed dwarfs to level any slower then lets say a halfling, in fact faster, STR makes a difference as damage affects how fast you get XP. High CHA is nice IF you have tools to level with to bonus off of, and if you know alot of areas. Other than that dwarfs, and giants are probably the fastest to level, never played a human so cant say either way on them.

If you want to level fast, make an Elven Paladin who intends to join the Hammer or a Tribunal.

Max Charisma, you can heal/refresh/cure blind/frenzy yourself and use 2-handed swords/spears. You get BoG for leveling eventually.

Note that (elven) paladins suck aside from leveling quickly.

Aside from that, everything levels fast, if you feel like maxing your charisma.

Two things. 1) I feel like an elf paladin in the hammer in a certain religion could be pretty powerful, and 2) BoG doesn't seem like it should be a very good leveling tool because of the whole vaporize thing. As I understand it, instant death spells don't give you the full xp you would have received by damaging the NPC to death.

Yeah, spear is almost as good for leveling, and a lot less annoying. BoG definitely gives more damage for mana, though, so it's really nice if you're hitting an NPC that is prone.

As far as I know, a max charisma character will end up using the same amount of areas as a low charisma character. He'll just burn through them faster. He'll still end up spending the same amount of time asking around and finding new places.

I've never seen any evidence for this. The only thing I believe is that the way the game counts xps is bugged, hence why it takes more work to obtain the first and last xp ticks of every level, when they're actually worth less than the rest of the bars set for the level (1/4, 1/3, etc)

I don't know what you're talking about. Elf paladins are tough. It's the quality of the player and their knowledge of game mechanics that makes the class/race combo work. A little preparation to cover up your character's weak points will go a long way in making your character tougher.

Bolt of glory is also terrible for leveling unless you do some work to trap a NPC in a room with no exits. It's more effort than it's worth though.

I don't think anybody can give an answer to this. Most certainly a white aura character would get bigger xp yields because of the better bonus for killing dark aura NPCs, but every class has different xp requirements. I don't know the xp requirements (nor do I care to know), but I will give some advice.

Killing NPCs that are opposite aura gives an xp bonus, grouping up gives an xp bonus. Familiarity can give an xp bonus, and having high charisma grants a bonus. XPs are rewarded based on the amount of damage your character does to a NPC so it's your job to figure out how to steal the most amount of xps from your group mates while having them preserve your bonus to area familiarity.

Elf gets the highest charisma so whatever classes an elf would be would get the highest xp yields out of anything.
