So there has been talk about sending out an email before your character is deleted, that's a plus I suppose. I wonder though, why do we have a character wipe due to inactivity? I understand that an equipment wipe is necessary to put the mad loots into circulation again but the deletion of characters... is it to free up the name slot?

Is it so horrible to take a 5 month break from the game and come back with your venerable character and glare at the whippersnappers?

Dulrik wants you to suffer frequently, so even if you aren't playing, there are ways for the game to hurt you.

Sarcasm aside, it's probably for memory management. Deleting inactive characters is the only way to get rid of characters that aren't deleted.

There aren't many circumstances where it's impossible to log in for even a couple seconds once a month, I don't see a problem with the inactivity deletion rule.

which also means you wouldn't mind the rule being removed!
