How nostalgic.

I don't think it needs to be messed with. I've never seen socials being used to actually harrass anyone.

Grep, that quote was from over a year ago. You are scary.

Regardless of grep's fearsome nature, I haven't changed my position. Socials are not the problem. Players are.

Guns don't kill people. People do.

Look this is no tree hugging democratic ecofriendly mud......GTFO it's a game and If I goose or grope I am either icly drunk or icly just being a dick. In no shape or form should anyone get "turned on" by emoting naughty bits....unless you read hustler for just the forums.

decent memory + search function = ability to quote things that are a year old

People shouldn't be able to grope you when you're second row, anyway. Nothing annoyed me more than people poking, prodding, or hugging my third row, paranoid sorc with MI and a racing pulse. What a load of garbage.

Also, randomly groping people is lame.

If your sleeping and being groped with nobody else in the room.. is it still sexual harassment?

Stop trying to justify your completely inane antics, adder. I'm highly doubting the player OR the character is getting "turned on," and that's not the issue at hand. The issue is that it's an inappropriate behavior for a person (your character) to engage in, as it's disrespectful to other people (other characters). It's going to affect how other characters interact with him, and it should.

Just because it doesn't make YOU uncomfortable doesn't mean it doesn't make someone else uncomfortable. Golden Rule FTW.

In short, if you can't be respectful, YOU GTFO.

It's funny, because I agree with the the fact that groping is kinda sexual harassment, but it's ironic because that is said in a game where no complaint is made about murder.

Uh, no offense to the OP, but Mr. Treefinger kind of had it right. There's more fantasy involved in this MUD that allows for certain normally illegal things to be considered legal (case in point murder, stealing etc.). These things are best kept IC if your character is getting groped IC. It technically would not count as sexual harassment outside of the game, mostly because you can choose to play a member of the opposite sex if you so desire. The only thing that would constitute OOC sexual harassment punishable by OOC means would be someone harassing via constant overtly offensive emotes, says and tells.

Since grope, goose and others are IC emotes and someone is doing it constantly IC, I would have your character contact their kingdom's leaders and report the offender. Roleplaying the offended victim IC would probably do more benefit than bringing it to an OOC forum about a social. Generally doing things like this gets you alienated just because it's difficult to justify it as violating the rules. If imms tell you to handle murders and thefts IC, it's generally a good idea to handle cases of unwanted groping IC. Personally, I would find a deep-elf sorc to pay to charm said offender and a various giant, minotaur, centaur or whatever to show said offender how offensive groping can be.

There's no way to hide potentially offensive material here in the forums, otherwise I would give more concrete examples of what would fall under the sexual harassment policy. They would be offensive to some people, so I will refrain from posting anything here, but I'm sure if you're at least 12 years old you can probably use your imagination.
