I'm all for weakening store-bought pet damage output.

If you're going to nerf their hit points, though, keep in mind that it will severely cripple non-tribunal priests and bards both in terms of leveling and in terms of PK viability. In an SK of declining numbers, you really can't count on leveling or PK buddies being around. I enjoyed having a fighting (if uphill) PK chance with a solo priest on Baba.

I would love a change like this as long as a few priest-only (high hp, low attack) pets were added.

Just to dispel your worries about hoarding charmies: It can already be done with the use of petrification/depet. Just get the charm you want in a room you want and pet/depet it and it will stay there till next reboot.

I used to do this when I first started playing, but was told by a vet that it is illegal.

Indeed, but I'd rather see this challenge addressed prior to or simulateneous with any pet wimp rather than just willy-nilly screwing around with game balance!
