So my Sprite (who is a sorc) seems to keep getting bugged out. It doesn't matter how many times I buy the mare from Garazul, it's ALWAYS gone when I log on.

I'm not charming NPCs and logging out. This happens when i have nothing charmed. I buy the pet. Log out with it in the same room. Log back in. Voila, it's gone. No idea what's going on. I can't keep a pet at all.

Fixed. The mare was flagged as unique, which I assume was incorrect.

Thanks D. You've been on a ball lately. Can't express enough gratitude and it's good to see you so active again.

So, what is the deal with scout pets? Should they have unique flags or is that a bug?

Depends on the intent of the builder.

I don't think any builder would intend for a scout pet to be unique. I can't imagine what purpose it would serve besides restricting the playability of scouts who are Champion+ status. Some scout pets have always been limited in how many will spawn, I don't think they should be unique though. Especially if you consider that some of these pets wander and are time consuming to find over and over again.

I'd repeat that it is up to the intent of the builder. If the animal is a lion and it's name is 'Leo the King of the Jungle', that is obviously supposed to be a unique NPC. There should never be two of them in the game at once.

Maybe it's my general lack of understanding how the code works..would another lion spawn if someone logs out with him and it wasn't unique? Also, the pet that is disappearing on me is the immense gorilla which isn't unique but limited to two(last I knew).

So tame is now essentially temporary for unique pets? That is to say, a scout could not expect to keep a non-unique pet, like Dyasha's bear or whatever, across sessions?
