There should be a reasonable expectation that all mortals are treated fairly.

Either we can all expect for IMMORTALS to save our loot for us from code dehording when we fail to log enough hours to keep it ourselves, or we can't.

I'm not always looking for a fight. I'm always looking for a fair shake. It's increasingly apparent that I'm not going to get one.

But here's a [REDACTED] concept. If you want your loot, log a couple hours. The requirements for such are laughable.

1) We were on our way out to door to the dreamscape to gank Ephialtis when Kura walked in wearing his l00t.
2) Tragonis wouldn't let me gank her for some reason.
3) She didn't give this eq to Algorab. She was eq-wiped last month. The suit was on Ephialtis three days ago, now it's on Kura.
4) Tragonis logged off in frustration but I journeyed out to Ephialtis anyways last night, just on the principle of the thing.

I've lost much nicer stuff than what Kura had to clear-cut bugs. I was told the IMMs can't restore items for any reason. I understood because the rule made sense. I think most people who have played this game have also been eq-wiped before. This is probably the first case in recorded history of a player having an IMM go take the EQ off the NPC and giving it back to the player.

Also, her RP reason is completely bogus, as pointed out before. I'm not sure if that really changes anything, since even with a good RP reason, it shouldn't have happened, but I guess it's just the icing on the cake. Edoras, do you remember any fisties on our trip to the DS? No? That's because there weren't any.

I for one think that Algorab is a great IMM, and it makes me sad that I've never played a follower of Fear before. He deserves a little benefit of the doubt, at the least.

Kura is a long-standing primarily RP character about to age die that asked her patron IMM for a favor she shouldn't have received, and Algorab decided to grant her request probably on the basis that he didn't feel like it would affect the game adversely for the armor to be out of circulation for at most a week. Was it the right choice? No, because it violated a pretty basic rule of IMMing. However, it's an understandable mistake and doesn't seem like its worth making a huge fuss over.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.

I understand why the mistake was made and I acknowledged in my original post that the player and IMM involved probably thought it was harmless.

This kind of favoritism/bending of rules for certain players is just really frustrating, especially when it's ruining pve trips for the rest of us.

Yeah, it looks a lot worse once you realize how far off-base the "RP Concept" surrounding the thing is. But, this thread was directed at Algorab, not Kura, whom I am more disappointed with.

If the suit was a custom-made suit of white whale meat mail that had a script to cast stone skin or something, would people be all up in arms?

I don't even think caring about the unfairness that what Algore did was a good idea; I just think it should be expected that all people get treated relatively the same. But the little incidents with Kura getting armor, vakna getting NPC spells, Achernar's friend keeping his terrible character name, drew getting leadership of the Talon way back whenever... it's fairly obvious that isn't happening, when these things happen in the same place that we deal with something like Sadal missing high followers and Menegroth, one of the oldest areas in the game, waiting around for desc edits.

Instead of caring about the fact that people aren't treated the same, I think it would be more important to learn how these people get their nice things so that we can, in theory, work towards the same if we so chose. It is obvious this game allows snowflakes. It's more useful to try to figure out the freezing point than try to heat things up.

I'm sure Viltrax will move the more darning posts to General Discussion at some point. When he does, I think he's silly for doing so.

I think that equal blame can be assigned to both parties, Edoras. I can only imagine that the thread was directed primarily at Algorab because IMMs are usually held to higher standards than the rest of the pbase.

On another note, I would like a temporary (two month) loan of Ephialtis's bandalore, enchanted to 20/20, plzkthx. The RP reasons behind this are very good. Someone told me that bandalore is a stupid weapon and I want to kill them with a bandalore and then gloat over their corpse. It will be the perfect way to tie up all the loose ends with my character.

If you guys flame him too hard, all that will happen is that Algorab will just go even more inactive and Kura will be promoted to imm to replace him.

I miss my pizza :( I had it forever!!!! She almost aged died with it :(

I add something of consequence to this thread, but I am prepping for a weekend of drunken debauchery. So I'll just say this, what happened was crap, I was part of the initial group that got Kura that armor and I was part of the group that went to get it after she lost it to inactivity and resulted in the loss of some loved unique RP items. And I would have gladly gone back with her to get it again. I thought the original RP surrounding her having it was interesting and Thyki supported it.

I think it was an honest mistake with the time constraint being seen as the equalizer, but it wasn't and to me Algorab IC, does not seem like the kind of Lord who would return armor like that if His High Knight wasn't around to keep it and it went back to His NPC second. That just means she needs to prove herself again. He is the god of Fear and Tyranny for gods sake, not your mommy writing your name on the back of your panties so they don't get stolen at camp.

I've lost tons of things to inactivity, I've lost things to loots and bugs and falling from the sky and reboots and pretty much everything you can think of. And while there are things I would beg and plead to have back, to be honest it isn't exactly the same anymore. Thyki can't pretend that those things are the same because she knows they are gone and I know they are gone.

Bah, I've ended up rambling anyway, but long story short, I would hope that the response this event has gotten is just a further reminder not to return loot in this fashion. These things are hard to get, but there a plenty of people willing to try and it could have been done that way. I really like Algorab as an Imm, I think up to this point he has done a stellar job maintaining proper decorum and everyone makes mistakes and should be given a second chance. We are just stupid humans anyway. Strip Kura of the armor now, don't wait the week and get a group together to go back and get it. End of story.

P.S. Sadal has a high follower again...just took me a minute since we have no patron IMM :(
