Figured this would be the best place to put this.

Quote:
[HP:100%] [ME: 83%] [PE:100%]
>
typo The most blessed thing that a male can give to a woman is that of pregnancy.
Through pregnancy, a woman goes through suffering and pain of both physical,
emotional and mental. (The last part, "Of Both.. mental,' lists three choices.)
Typo logged.

[HP:100%] [ME: 84%] [PE:100%]
> Huh? Type 'help' for a list of commands.

[HP:100%] [ME: 84%] [PE:100%]
> Huh? Type 'help' for a list of commands.

Am I entering multiple commands? I'm not trying to, by any means, I'm trying to submit one typo report, but I think I'm screwing it up.
I tried again and still got the "Huh?" messages, so I have a couple of questions.

One, for Typo commands, would it be more prudent to set them down like recording notes and descriptions? Likewise, with new content coming out, is it possible to just email/PM an admin with various typos I might find rather than using the client itself?

((Sorry if I've any spoilers in here. Feel free to delete if you wish, and I'd be happy to continue this over another means.))

Looks like your client is taking that string and sending it as three different messages. First, you're logging a typo that says "The most blessed thing that a male can give to a woman is that of pregnancy."

Then, since there's no in-game skill/spell, script in the room or scripted item on your person for the "Through" or "emotional" commands, the game just takes those two lines separately and briefly goes "wtf mate?" before disregarding them completely.

As for typos in "new content," I'm not sure exactly what you mean: If you are working with an IMM on building an area that isn't within the game just yet, then sending them an e-mail would be the best way. If you notice a typo in an area that is completed, then the typo command while -in- the room is best (Best thing would be to pre-pend the area name within that typo as well), because the typo command also logs the room that the player was in when the typo was logged.

Then again, if you're working with an IMM on an area that has been "added" into the game for testing purposes but hasn't been made public, and you notice a typo as you're testing the room connections/scripts and all that, then I suppose that depends on the IMM. I'd just use the typo command personally at that point.

That's what I had figured. With recent goings-on, I've noticed two different typos, and don't think I've gotten either in properly. -.-

The thing about typos is that unless you say exactly what the item is that has the typo, we have no idea what you are talking about and it may never get fixed. If it is in a room, we know what your looking at, but you should still say things like "when I look at the chair in this description, there is this typo..."

Being overly helpful and specific is the way to go.

I entirely understand, which is why I'm wondering if it's cool if I can PM the details.

As it stood, I put the details after the quote in later attempts. What that got me was the lines breaking up as shown and the details never making it to the typo command. I will try to clarify, but I also don't want to send 6 typo reports just to find one that finally works when I can get it all down in a PM.

(That came out way more jerk-like than I intended, but any tips to streamlining the process would be much appreciated.)

EDIT: Also, can you view edited posts as if they weren't edited? As in, if I detail out a specific bug/typo, and then edit the post to clear out said text (To prevent spoilers or OOC information.) Would you still be able to view it?

What client are you using? As long as you don't include hard returns via the enter key, it shouldn't be splitting up your typo commands.

If you were to type "alias through say &0" or whatever, then do what you did, I'm willing to bey you would see "You say ''pregnancy, a woman goes through suffering and pain of both physical,."

That is because if you are copy-pasting the description with a typo (which it looks like you are doing) you will be copy-pasting the newlines at the end of each line. SK CR-LF's all lines at 80 or so characters as part of the dot-f formatting in the string editor. As an aside, it also messes up the spacing between periods and sentences, and sometimes, will capitalize things for you. So when you copy-paste, that line break is actually a second command. And, as an aside, coloring things in insane detail should happen after you dot-f dot-s the description to see what happens to it.

Nashira's got it nailed. If you can typo an object in the room it spawns in, you give the builders a better chance of even being aware of the report in the first place.

Also, yes. If you edit a post in this thread to just read [removed], then that's all it will say when people view it from then on.

Also. What the heck are you doing putting pregnancy into the game? :o Sadal is turning into a feminist? Will Aludra establish the ritual of the abortion shower? That's like a baby shower, but the mom can drink. :drunk:

I had meant can ADMINS see what was on the message before edit. Ex: If I'd cleared the quote, noone would be talking about pregnancy at the moment, but would Admins still know I posted about pregnancy?

But yes, I had kind of figured that might be the case. I know -what- the problem is, just trying to think of a good solution is all. I guess I'm turning this into a suggestion thread on the typo command, but any ideas on how to work within the current system is appreciated. All I can figure is that I've to manually type it all in, which is a bit of a drag, but alas.

They can't see anything until you post it into the game. Then it depends. If they're in a building interface then they won't see anything, if they're snooping your character or otherwise not detained then yes they are able to see this.

You don't have to manually type it all in, though. You can copy paste, but you just have to go to the end of each line you copied and remove the new line character.

For instance:

typo The most blessed thing that a male can give to a woman is that of pregnancy. Through pregnancy, a woman goes through suffering and pain of both physical, emotional and mental. (The last part, "Of Both.. mental,' lists three choices.)
