Well, you said it. An arbitrary deathmark was something your character had no say in.

You do have a say in breaking the law to begin with, in 9/10 cases.

Nice waste of 30 minutes. Unfortunately it seems you didn't read syn's post recently. Anything that takes coding to do, you're most likely not going to get it as Dulrik is nowhere to be found and doesn't seem to invest much time or effort into this game anymore. So making a post like this is kinda useless as nothing will come of it.

For future reference.

FYI - Getting naked, emptying your bank account and stashing your gear to surrender is illegal and will get you helled at the least.

I voted that you are mostly right. The post started out calm, the middle-section was humorous, especially at the mention of elite. The closing section was slightly overdone, and the comparison between the tribunal guards have been done to death - the horse is so beaten beyond recognition now.

However, alas, it seems Dulrik has probably checked out. Further new features and/or modifications of the current that require coding are put on indefinite hold.

Dulrik, if you ever read this, you know, a post by you, even if it's once a month, yeah, I am not exaggerating or being sarcastic, even if it's once a month would be quite encouraging and perhaps give us enough motivation to play.

I do not believe that this is true.

I'll have to side with drexal here, I'm sure I've seen it posted and mentioned a few times before in the past, circumventing law system blah blah something.

Then again, the code has changed since then to add a significant amount of time if you can't pay the price... dunno if that policy changed. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to, you do risk having your stuff found if you leave it laying around, or lost completely in the event of a crash (I believe some imms used to purposefully crash the game if they caught someone doing that).

.... Just stopped in to say I believe it -used- to be a policy, not sure if it still is.

I don't think it's policy, but I think if an IMM notices it, they'll go out of their way to junk all your [REDACTED].

Don't worry. Under the current code, they already go out of their way to junk all your [REDACTED].

If I recall, all aspects of SK, except for the magic, are done with the purpose of making a realisitic world set roughly Middle Ages-ish. So in the interest of keeping people from leaving over long prison sentences AND realism, prison should be mostly done away with. Its only within the last couple centuries that you'd be sent to jail and be "rehabilitated" and released after your sentence. In the good old days, you'd either be thrown in the dungeon to rot away for the rest of your life, or more likely to await your execution or limb severment. That's it. So it would be a step towards realism that we do away with sitting in jail for real hours upon hours if not days at atime. If you're punishment is to be execution, then fine, maybe an SK day or two waiting for the executioner. And if you're a thief, maybe a few SK hours til they can chop your hand off. But as long as we're going to have prison sentences, why not get some guns while we're at it?
