Isn't it obvious? He is either Grep himself or a disciple of the Peoples Temple of Grep. Don't drink the grape kool-aid. 8)

Actually, the recent changes to the law code have made it more tolerable to not have to stash all your crap. It used to be that even low murder meant taking everything you had, and now the worst punishment you can get is losing 3 pieces of EQ per murder.

So, if you actually -want- to pay the time without "cheating the system" by dumping everything you can without losing everything.

I've already made my case for having jail max out at 5-10 IC days and attaching a separate penalty on top of that dependant on your crimes, but now everything is corresponding to the no-coding rule: So generally, things are the way they are and they're not changing.

They are not, however, that bad. Allowing tribs to banish people without crimes is much worse than it is now (which is why it was changed), because now at least players have much more choice in the matter. That's worth the price of people cheating the system to avoid getting outlawed in my opinion.

As for having way too dang long sentences, you're probably banished anyway: So either get broken out or RP a truce in exchange for pardons. It happens all the time.

If I recall, all aspects of SK, except for the magic, are done with the purpose of making a realisitic world set roughly Middle Ages-ish.

This is completely untrue. This is a fantasy world, hardly anything is realistic. There is big colorful yo-yo's, lollipops used as weapons, mini skirts and things like that, tons of other things that would have never been found in the "Middle ages" and/or is not realistic at all.

The core structure of the world leans heavily on Mercedes Lackey's world, but it's been built upon and up over the years so that it only vaguely resembles that anymore. Most fantasy settings have a "middle ages" type of feel, because that's the setting that suits sword and sorcery stories best, in most cases.
