It's not "derailing" if it's staying on topic, which she did. You're trying to improve an already OP'd thing because it would benefit you, when it's not even needed.

If, as a sorcerer, you know you are going to die, why wouldn't you just final strike instead of petrifying yourself?

Also, Anjin, your obsession with seppuku is getting a little out of hand. It sounds like you want to be able to commit suicide without losing any of your phat lewt.

Final strike takes a boatload of mana and is the longest casting combat spell in the game.

So, if as a sorcerer you know you're going to die, there's definitely not enough time to cast final strike, even if you do happen to have near half your mana pool.

I'm pretty sure that Anjin has no interest in killing himself in combat.
