However, alas, it seems Dulrik has probably checked out. Further new features and/or modifications of the current that require coding are put on indefinite hold.
Dulrik, if you ever read this, you know, a post by you, even if it's once a month, yeah, I am not exaggerating or being sarcastic, even if it's once a month would be quite encouraging and perhaps give us enough motivation to play.
Here's a post. I took a sabbatical from the game for about 3 months (ironically due to the crushing work load at my job). I started having some free weekends two weeks ago and started paying attention again. I was avoiding posting while I caught up with the forums, as once I do, people will expect me to know and respond to everything that's going on. I'm actually still reading stuff written in July, but I got a PM about this post, so here I am. I did write and add a code update to the game last weekend, but it was stuff to help out immortals so you wouldn't notice anything different. I'll be working on writing more code on weekends going forward. But please don't flood the board with feature requests right now. I have a backlog of items to address.
As for this post about the law system, I don't feel like it is a major contributor to stagnation. As mentioned by others, it's been tweaked to have more gradations in penalties and you can even serve your time now while you are not playing the game, so I don't think it's the barrier that it's made out to be. At this point, the only tweak I'd think about making is to make the bounty spawning areas a little more controllable by builders. Main cities are what should be most heavily patrolled. Many of the other less-populated areas should probably have less hunters in a manner similar to the wilderness.
