Okay, Syn.

Sorc doesn't have that kind of power.

1v2ing, it depends on what you're facing. If they're competent and prepared, it will probably come down to dropping a spell, crossing your fingers, disabling one of them and having a chance if the spell lands, and having to teleport/recite ethereal/quaff recall/just plain old walk away if the longshot doesn't land in time.

1v3 and beyond, any class except necro will need a serious advantage in preparation factor and competence factor to win.

If you're a necro, you can do a whole, whole lot of prep and kill more or less anyone or any group that doesn't have strong holy words, or some hard melee damage that can bypass third row, mirror images and etherealform.

If the people you're facing are incompetent, then everything is out the window, and it comes down to a question of how incompetent they're going to be.

There is one way to be right, and a thousand ways to be wrong.

Let's not use inaccurate gameplay statements to distract from the accusation of turtling.

Anjin, you are a shittastic sorc. And I totally mean every offense.

I'm not sure I ever see you with a charm. Which, if that's some RP thing, good for you. If not. Uh. Well. Anyways. I also see you sitting around all the time without MI up.

You can charm Bill. Put him on defensive, and he will literally tank all day. Seriously. He like, will not die. Ever. You can get a wand with 8 op'd charges of Cone of Cold. A wand with 12 op'd charges of Color Spray. 8 op'd charges of acid. 8 op'd hellfires. The Hand-Mirror so you don't have to conc on MI. Wands/potions/scrolls so you don't have to conc on detects. Wands for Ironguard/Stoneskin. Staves/wands of armor/sanc for charm/pet. The list goes [REDACTED] on and on.

I was a s.a. sorc, too, but I've seen a sorc own face as WW describes. They do, in fact, have that capability.

Unfortunately you cannot put any NPC on defensive stance

...yes, you can. Trust me. Having been proficient with using NPCs, there is a marked difference between o lathron mood aggr and o lathron mood def.

Changes:
- Scrolls/wands/stave use requires having enough free concentration
- Can no longer order NPCs to change stance

Note: There is no concentration time, you just can't be concentrating on so many other spells that you couldn't cast the spell from the device normally.

NOOOO. you cant

That was a pretty good change.

I also told you about it when it happened. You have a bad memory.

I solo'd a prepped necro with my gnome merc.

And I completely annihilated Trag's fully prepped necro with one priest backing up my gnome merc.

Sorcs, while still the most powerful solo class in exploration/utility, are not even close to the powerhouses they used to be in PvPs where everyone is at their peak. PvPs that involve large, prepared groups and long battles are PvPs in which sorcerers are not strong, because they're fragile. There's a reason why 90% of the battles I won with Antiira lasted under eight rounds (And were usually decided in three rounds or less): If a battle takes much longer than that then the sorc is probably going to lose.

A fully buffed, fully enchanted, fully prepared barbarian can definitely tangle with a sorc in a 1v1. He'd have to be stupid to try, though, since the sorc takes on no risk at all while the barbarian will stack up fatigues while fighting high-risk battles. The sorc also has access to charm person, which has a high rate of success even against 30 willpower and will instantly win the fight.

Sorcs can still manage 1v3+ when the enemy is not fully enchanted. A 1v4 might have a very low rate of success, but the sorc can still engage with those odds because the sorc has such survivability. Sorcs can insta-cast triple FoD, triple harm, GM fear, CoC, Acid blast, and color spray. They can instantly unload a powerful sleep spell on all of their enemies. They can cast sleep, color spray, charm, etc. Lathron on mood neutral will still murder most people when buffed. Sorcerer is still the most powerful, most versatile, most dangerous class when it comes to solo pvp. I have no idea why Edoras thinks sorcerers are so fragile. Maybe it's because his sorc always died within a round of zapping himself with chain lightning. That's just a theory, though.

No melee character can stand against a necro in a 1v1 if the necro is using a fully buffed army wielding enchanted hunting spears. Rorey was able to murder Tragonis's full army without even using heals, but Tragonis used bwhips. I did testing with hunting spears and I am certain that my analysis of this is correct.
