Do I really have to play a rainbow pride parade of every race/class/cabal combo, all at once, to *ask* the playerbase their opinion about something without being accused of trying to buff myself?

If you're familiar with my style of posting about things I *do* have an opinion on, you may have noticed that I don't particularly tend to withhold the opinions I may have. Since I don't play a melee class, however, I don't think all that strongly one way or another about this- however, I've heard people say that the stance is imba, and so, I'm giving you all a forum for discussion.

You can just troll it if you'd like, I suppose, but you're kind of trolling your own game if there actually *is* the problem with mood defensive that I've been hearing.

I'm just going to go take some wonderful, wonderful drugs now, and pretend that I live in a world where people constructively discuss game balance issues instead of trolling and post count +++ing.

Even so, there's no "They're fine" button.

I think the AC boost from mood defensive needs to be nerfed a bit, though I would advise against drastic changes, as even a small change in this will have large effects on pvp and pve. I felt invincible when I played Rorey once I discovered mood defensive. He was a barbarian who favored bandalore. Any merc with a high-accuracy spec would be far superior tankage. My only reservation about this is that it would buff necros and sorcs, who do not need to be buffed.

There's some caveats I have with it. It should be nerfed moderately, and then buffed a little. It certainly doesn't work the way that Dulrik posted about it when he originally introduced it.

I used it a lot on my katana merc. It is indeed pretty awesome. I dont know if it really needs nerfed per se though. I also used aggressive a lot. I also put a spec into pike. It was crap even mood defensive. If I was behind something in mood aggressive though, I did a lot of damage.

Mood Defensive itself isn't broken.

Fury + Mood Defensive is broken, because fury more than makes up for the losses you get from it.

A paladin or something on defensive is going to be hard to kill, but they won't be pumping out full power damage. Or much of any damage, really.

My shaman doesn't see a whole lot of difference between defensive/neutral, as far as I can tell. I was getting my [REDACTED] kicked by Lathron while fully buffed (with GM spirit aura, of course) and on defensive.

Ok. So its class specific. So why not just ask for fury to auto switch them to active or even just not have any bonuses from any stance apply when fury is activated?

This is actually a good idea. I have difficulty imagining someone under the effects of frenzy or berserk being anything but mood aggressive^2.

All in all, we should be thinking of ways to make mood neutral and mood aggressive more viable options, rather than simply nerfing defensive and therefore buffing casters. Perhaps a little buff here, a little nerf there- I wouldn't know, since I'm not playing a front row class at the moment.

Shamans should be. SA, plus spirit horde and only store bought pets which should be much weaker now.
