You're welcome to stop being a pansy who can't play without his cabal abilities and come gank me, so I'm not rocking 140% of my mana pool. I was wandering around Sith'a'niel and Nerina earlier, when you, Qika, Reneaux, Jasper, Ciadel, Alisyi, Tyian, etcetc were on. And I know you guys knew I was wondering around, because Alisyi and Heishi both saw me and probably went OMG COME KILL HER.

P.S. Tyian does get props for actually PKing earlier.

Yeah, I have this thing where I don't like getting outlawed in cities, so I don't go out attacking people that aren't outlawed. I know it's weird, but it's true. Also, given that over half the people you mentioned just now aren't GM and none of them are in the guardians, they have better things to do than spend hours chasing you around while you get them outlawed for crimes.

That, however, has nothing at all to do with the fact that it's an abuse of seance to use it in order to prevent people from getting resurrected.

So. What exactly is seance for, then?

The vast number of age death characters who spend hours and hours logged on each day, and need someone to seance them?

I had seance used on me when I was playing my first character, an elf rogue: I died attacking the Adept's keep and one of the Hammer Shaman seanced me before I was rezzed and congratulated me for my courage or something like that. I thought it was pretty cool.

Seance doesn't get used often, but neither does remove compulsion or ventriloquate: That doesn't mean it doesn't have a use, it just means that it's real uses are pretty few and far between. People just don't age-death characters anymore, which is the main reason why there aren't many people to seance.

Honestly, I would think that the IMMs would have a pretty big problem with seancing people in order to prevent people from getting resurrected. I would definitely think that Dulrik wouldn't agree to such a use. Maybe I'm mistaken: Seems that most of the playerbase that's voted so far is completely fine with using what seems to be an RP spell to grief people.

You're also doing your best to make it sound like I just cast the spell and left them there for an hour or something and was just doing it for the hell of it after ganking them.

Stop being a douchebag, Eddy.

I probably had Syric seanced for 10 minutes total. Alisyi probably not even 5.

Yeah, like charming someone for 20 minutes is alright but seancing someone for 5 is such abuse. k

I didn't mean to sound like that. It's pretty obvious that you only seanced them in order to keep them from getting resurrected long enough to locate their bodies in order to grab their loot. Is that better?

And why is this something WickedWitch shouldn't have done? Seems like a clever use of the spell to me and perfectly legitimate both IC and OOC. In virtually every other pkill scenario, your loot is forfeit if you die.

Why is it suddenly different because seance was used? I think your real issue is with voodoo and not seance.

Theoretically, I agree with Edoras- using seance to deny people resurrection is pretty plastic.

However, I really see no situation where someone could gain anything from this, except if they were using voodoo, which already shouldn't exist. This is only a symptom of the problem.

Unrelated: Body parts from someone who dies to voodoo should not be able to be made into more dolls.
