Grand Master Level Bard

Songs of Dissonance

Syntax sing <lyric name>

This song is the epitome of the bard's training . The bard learns to utilize all the off-key notes throughout his practice and weave them into
a harmony all their own that instills madness. People afflicted by this song behave erratically such as removing equipment, dancing wildly, or even becoming aggressive to other folks.

Sorry. I couldn't think of anything better. I was imagining a bard singing so horribly it drove people insane.. =(

I am thinking of Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and the poem at the beginning of the movie

I had a similar idea about a week ago, and logged it to the IM's using the "Idea" tool. It would be nice to have something to work for once you have reached Grand Master. I even went as far in my idea as to suggest that there could be an "epitome" class that a character could achieve only by mastering all skills/spells (final strike would be an issue here I think) or by some other ordeal like a quest or roleplay rewards. When these "Epotime" classes are unlocked, characters could perhaps have one new spell or skill that is able to be learned, maybe even a choice between several. Here's what the new classes could look like:

CURRENT - EPITOME
Mercenary - Soldier of Fortune
Barbarian - Savage
Swashbuckler - Adventurer/ Blade Dancer
Priest - Archpriest
Paladin - Champion/Hero
Hellion - Devil
Shaman - Speaker
Rogue - Knave
Scout - Ranger
Bard - Gleeman
Sorcerer - Magus
Warlock - Elementalist
Necromancer - Demon

This is just an example, but the best I could come up with researching different class titles. I think doing something like this would improve the experience for players and at the same time be something easily RP'd IC'ly.

Hellion - Devil? What? You might want to reread the Hellion description, they are Dark Knights but Knights nonetheless, in D&D terms, they are Lawful Evil, not Chaotic Evil, hence Devil makes little to no sense :P

Don't get confused because most people that play Hellions don't have a clue about how to and end up being wannabe assassins in plate :P

The next step up from a knight is a lord, specifically Baron's in Britain, so maybe Hell Lord.

If I'm wrong about the British hierarchy or how a Baron is addressed, please focus your ire on google and wikipedia.

Edit- So I was reading a little more about Peerage and I believe I put my entire foot in my mouth with this post. sorry.

Hellion becoming Devil is the literal translation of the word Hellion and was not taken from any gameing references. Besides, who wants to have a bunch of people running around in SK calling themselves, the "Dark Knight"? Sounds eerily familiar...

A Hellion would simply call himself Knight, as is true for him. He would also call Knight a Paladin that has behaved as a Knight. Their approaches are different but Hellions know to respect their enemies and treat them honorably as their Code dictates. The term "Dark Knight" is what the lighties generally use to describe a Hellion, no Hellion would call himself that, unless he's a bit shaken in the head. Aberrant characters have a very high sense of both laws and honor, they simply have their own version of it, and are not say, as friendly as Principled characters, but they both are Lawful, the difference is that a Principled character will adhere to the Laws of a country, even if he is in disagreement with them, and will not seek to overstep their boundaries whereas an Aberrant would crush the Laws he considers to be in error and enstate those that he believes are worthy.

Er, why would a principled character go along with the laws that are obviously wicked? Such as torturing and executing those that disagree with him/her?

This is why there are not people that are principled in nature from the Empire, and the North, they just do not agree with the way of life that they live there and would rather live under a more benevolent form of government.

The assumption is probably that a Principled character could have been born there but left due to not agreeing with the laws, nevermind that nobody wants to bother to RP that :P
