I'm pretty sure we already do some limited repop of items but only on unique NPCs. If a NPC is not unique, there's no way to know for sure which one should be getting which item, as there is the possibility that they wander around. However, I think this should already be enough, because aren't most requested items on unique NPCs anyway?

I think most of the desired NPCs are unique.

Would it be best then to typo those and request them to be flagged for repop?

Should probably typo the room in question and ask if the NPC is appropriately flagged as unique.

You know, I was actually interested by the necro conversation, though it was completely off-topic for this thread.

Perhaps you should make another?

Necros have been wimped since this thread was made and derailed. When I stopped playing, they were not so terribly OP (though undeniably were still at the top of the food chain). It's funny that people don't seem to realize that you could take animate dead away from necros completely, and they'd still be pretty good. The rest of their skillset and spellset is fantastic.

It occurs to me that recent updates might have buffed them, though. I'd be curious to see someone give their wraith army a bunch of enchanted greatswords, GS, and haste, and let them fury. I imagine the damage output would be a absurd. With nerfs to defensive stance and buffs to large weaponry, I don't think anybody would be able to tank against that army.

As far as the original post goes, I agree with JvJ and co. It seems like Balantine (not sure who this really was) was the only person who was too dense to understand that this was a good idea. Balantine seemed to think that darkies must go through great lengths and take personal risks to get their gear, which is a baffling position to take. OA seemed to using the argument of "I used to suffer and so should you." It seems like maybe Dulrik is going to do something to close the gap between lightie and darkies in this regard, which is a good thing. It's much more difficult to get a properly enchanted suit when you are playing a lightie.

Necros have way too many weaknesses for all the effort you have to put into playing them.

I think it would be more accurate to say: "Wraith armies have too many weaknesses against certain opponents for all the effort you have to put into making them."

Wraith armies don't work against certain opponents. Necromancers have other options available to them for dealing with these opponents. The wraith army is needed for 1v3+ generally, so against certain opponents, the necromancer can't go 1v3. Necromancers still rock.

Meh. Necros are only good against greybies and darkies.

Sorry to dredge this up again. As stated in this thread, items on unique NPCs do return if junked after being request. However, if they are evaporated, they do not show up until the NPC in question dies. Is it an easy fix to make evaporated items return as if junked?
