LOL.

On subject though, Holy Word is a room affecting spell so it shouldn't take into account MI.
Nor would RP-wise the holy wrath of your god be fooled by a magicians trick.

I would be cool with that so long as deafness makes it so that you cannot hear the word of that god and therefore cannot be damaged by it.

That depends on whether it's you hearing the divine word that's causing its effect, or it's the priest uttering the divine word that brings the wrath of the god surrounding the room he's it.

If it's the first scenario, I agree with you, otherwise not.

Why is it all I can think of Marfik priest when I read that..

Code:
You start to concentrate.
You utter the words, 'boobies'.
You utter a word of divine power!
Your divine wraith DOES UNSPEAKABLE THINGS to Shadow.
Ardith does not hear your gods divine word.

..However, as the help file describes it "Holy word tends to cause great exhaustion for the caster as the power of their god pours through them." I would lean to think it is not the word that does the damage, its the divine wrath channeled through it that hits you. Therefore also leaning toward thinking that it would not be affected by mirror image.

Imo all room affect spells should ignore mirrors, but not break them. But this is mostly due to back when the change to fireball etc was made, the argument was that hitting an image specifically doesn't actually break it, as in make it vanish, it just lets your character know not to hit that one next time.
