In SK, most who have played the game knows in order for healers to gain experience, especially during grouping, in a timely manner that is the least painful, they have to cast damage spells. For priests, spear of faith is the most recommended route. For shamans, most opt for spirit horde, or call lightning where applicable.
It is a proven formula that when healers are grouped with one that can take on monsters better, and they provide healing, the group can sustain for much longer periods of time, allowing them to clear more monsters. Yet while this benefits the front row greatly, it significantly cripples the healers' experience gain.
In the other MUDs, they reward experience from a NPC to everyone in the group based on levels, so they don't have this issue. In SK, healers arguably do the most work with buffs, checking info, healing and sometimes timing them between rounds, refresh, drawing from adjacent rooms, and starting fights when sanctuary is used.
Healing experience have been adjusted some years ago in an update, but my personal opinion is that it needs to be more - it would bring a lot more enjoyment for the healer type of players out there in support roles; a lot of us love healing others and only want to gain fair experience at the same time. Please!
(PS. This idea strictly intends for healing the group only, not asking for more experience when it is used to heal undead.)
