I don't believe I am misreading. Impairment is a penalty. Bonuses of like types do not stack, but penalties are always untyped and so always stack. Nothing should cause impairment to vanish from your affect list once you have it until it expires.

I don't think the point is that it's disabling impairment entirely. I think the point is that if you have, say, a Bless effect whose bonus to Willpower is greater than the impairment negative to Willpower, until such a time as the impairment negative stacks to reduce Willpower beyond the bonus granted by Bless, impairment will not show in affects list. It would be similar to how some bonuses to saves stack, but only the greater of the two will appear in the affects list.

Well, I know that if you are frenzied (penalty to MR) and have force shield (bonus to MR) they do in fact both show...Unlike, say, Bless and Prayer, or Frenzy and Rally, which have overlapping bonuses which do not stack.

Yes, that is a good example.

I'd still like to hear if other people are seeing the reported problem or if it was just a misperception that one person way having.

Question, D, are you able to impair yourself?

I did some experiments, and it seems that you can get impaired by someone else, but not yourself but I still somehow get the wear off message later.

Is this by design?

I've impaired myself before.

You can't be impaired if you have no bonuses to your saving throw. If you are naked and have no buffs, then you can't impair yourself but neither can anyone else.

No, shouldn't work. Impairment just can't be added if you don't have a bonus. Once you've got it, whether you have a bonus or not is immaterial.
