There are no other NPCs in the room that could have made the attack which is dodged. The really strange part
is that I had a pet with me, and in every other case, they get the flamestrike too. Here, I somehow dodged
flamestrike and then got hit with another, and my pet did not get hit at all? I really don't even recall completely
dodging flamestrike ever before either.

Code:
A human centurion utters the words, 'yrawzgculatz'.
You dodge A human centurion's attack.
You feel immense pain as A human centurion directs a column of fire to strike you.

That dodge was from a melee attack, not flamestrike: NPCs are kinda buggy sometimes in how they can sometimes attack you between a spell cast and the actual damage message, and I think it can only happen when they initiate combat with a spell, or something.

So is that also then related to the pet not getting hit at all by the flamestrike? And as far as initiating combat with a spell, I tripped them, and they fought back physically for a bit before casting.

Well, if your pet was in your group and in the room that's odd too. Funky.

Yep. That same guy used flamestrike at least a couple other times, both before and after this, and the pet was always hit.

That's in the coliseum in the empire, right? I've only seen that happen there, and occasionally in the deep-elven city. It might be related to those areas somehow.

The quote in question is from the wandering legion I think.

You dodge A human centurion's attack.

This is not the message you would get for "dodging" flamestrike. You are dodging his melee attack here. This is not a bug, except that it is kind of weird how NPCs have their melee attack show up in between them saying the magic words and the spell actually being cast.

If your pet is grouped with you and in the room with you, but not getting hit with flamestrike when you are, then this is a bug.

I didn't think I was able to dodge a flamestrike, but that still means there's the issue that in between uttering the words, and me getting hit with the flamestrike, he managed to sucker punch me too. And it happening on the same casting that missed my pet, is what made me really curious.
