Ericos was excellent. Truly awesome. He is one of the few paladins that was played right. I am guilty of playing a bad paladin myself. It is very common. I really liked Ericos and I am happy that this afterlife post is made. You might be playing again. I hope you do.

If there was a right way to play any sort of character this game would lose its luster rather quickly.

I think the bar is a bit higher for Paladins. Alot of times paladins can degenerate into spell casting mercs who don't really have that higher purpose and what not. That's just my opinion.

I agree with Orac. There are definitely -wrong- ways of playing, especially when it comes to paladins. While there might not be one single "right" way of doing it, there definitely are "right" ways and "wrong" ways.

I think paladin is a very solid class mechanics wise, but sometimes I wonder if they should be even stronger, just to compensate for the difficult RP requirements.

I always felt like they should be immune to fear, and/or have them be able to make their group immune to fear or otherwise have higher will saves or something cool like that.

I think paladins are pretty strong as they are though.

Alot of games do give paladins immunity to fear. Like never winter nights 2 and other games like that. I donno. If paladins ever do fall behind again and need a buff maybe fear resistance would be something they could get.
