Dulrik has already said it can't be done multiple times in a fight unless the original effort was a crit success, which provides more than one negation during the battle.

It can be done multiple times during a fight, but not multiple times while prone. Any time you could use a command, you may attempt to bring up the aura of resistance. Doing this expends mana, move and generates lag, just like any other combat action. Once the aura is up, it will trigger the next time the barbarian comes into contact with a person who is effected by spells. This will trip the aura, which will be used up by the attempt to snuff those spells, unless you get a critical success, in which case the aura is still up for next time.

What a whinefest. You're a nutjob, Edoras, who thinks stomping your feet like a child is going to help you find justice.

Aura of negation is cool. I'm actually just returning to the game after a long hiatus and see this new feature as a great reason to come back, get engaged, and vote.

The implementation of MR trains was a sickening joke to the entire pbase. The only MR barb I can recall (a female giant of sorts) got her [REDACTED] whooped up and down without the ability to:

prayer
lighten load
armor
bless
giant strength
haste
frenzy
protection
sanctuary
spirit aura
religious spells (Nashira, Sadal, Aludra, Alshain, etc)

It's a step in the right direction. A barbarian shouldn't need to stack herbs and pots just to be competitive. Quite the opposite in fact. What do I think? Take away all the HP trains from barbs and dump them into MR. Really drive the magic-hating RP of a barbarian into effect. Before this change, any buffed melee class along with a handful of spellcasters could beat an MR barb (except perhaps rogues and warlocks). Now they will be taken seriously.

Don't allow the power of aura of negation to stack with MR gear. That's dumb. Keep its potential to the MR trains unique to the class.

I also maintain that even with aura of negation the majority of non-MR melee classes/builds will curb stomp an MR barb, with or without debuff because at the end of the day, an MR barb still can't quaff heals to the effect that a non-MR build can, and they still opt for less HP trains.

Dulrik, you're crazy if you think that spirit horde is not-so-laudable.

I can, however, guarantee that nobody would see a problem with aura of negation if my mercenary were getting her rear kicked by this ability every day.
That wouldn't happen since it requires you engaging in melee combat with someone who can beat you in a fight.

Ardith has plenty to gain from MR being on barbarians because he sticks Qahz in front of him in every PvP he's involved in unless Qahz is offline. He also doesn't have to fight griffons because he's an elf.

It's not my fault it takes 3-4 other melee people to equal the damage output my mercenary does. I got in a fight with a fully prepared Midnight Council group the other night and sent them packing with damage output from my elf. I also may, or may not have been under the influence of some drugs.

I'm also sorry that I haven't quite got around to the fight you want where I just stand there and die to undead zerg spam. It's really low on my list of priorities though.

I don't feel the need to defend how strategically awesome my tactics have been. Haters just gonna hate. I do realize that that 100 obsidian bounty for my character's death *is* really attractive though.

There was a time when it was lumped in with the useless abilities.
