Yeah the prone code is one of the most interesting things that's happened in SK over the past five years. I love that there are now things you can do once you're knocked down that allow you to contribute meaningfully to a battle and possibly escape death.

I agree a million times. Prone code rocks.

The most important part, really, is that removing anything that causes "lag" that isn't something that SHOULD have lag (read: movement) is probably a good thing.

For instance, using a "casting" state in the same way there's a prone state to track when someone is casting a spell. So now, casters can interrupt their spell by either moving away or doing something non-spellcastery if they suddenly have second thoughts. It also DISCOURAGES the use of stacking commands via spam and instead encourages people to do things "in the present". It also lets you react to people attacking you when you're in the middle of resurrecting someone, or enchanting -- it takes a little away from a surprise attack, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.

You can use similar states for other things, like brewing, scribing, etc.

That said, the bash-lag thing was one of the things I was really interested in seeing go away and I'm very happy it is officially gone. How funny that I'd realize it's gone a couple of years after it was introduced (and, ironically, about two months after I last quit SK).

I don't think you actually understand the changes that were implemented, since you compliment a bunch of stuff that was never done.

Reading comprehension, much? He was complimenting prone changes removing lag, and commenting that other skills could also be implemented to achieve similar results, which would also be desirable.
