Hey, you know what doesn't sound fun? Having to carry around 3-4 backup weapons because you can easily get disarmed 3+ times in a single PvP battle and if your weapon drops you're screwed.

I think that disarm should be nerfed to never drop the weapon on the ground, only in someone's inventory. Honestly this should have gone in as soon as you could no longer pick up weapons during combat.

Oh, and swashies should be able to disarm while prone if this goes into effect. Throw them a bone.

Going to think about this before voting. From a technical standpoint this might reduce weapon hoarding. I like disarm while prone.

I have to admit, actually codedly giving people a reason to carry around 4+ high quality good subtypes was a pretty horrible idea.

There is no code reason for people to carry around more than 3 weapons. If they're doing that then they're nothing more than hoarders.

Why does disarm need changed again?

I like disarm the way it is.
As much as I like the idea of disarming while prone, I don't see it actually happening.
I mean, can you lay on your back and disarm someone?

Absolutely, especially is someone is lunging at you. Someone as skilled as a swashbuckler I think would realistically pull it off, albeit at a bit of a reduced chance.

On another note I think disarm right now got an unintended buff when the "chaos" code was implemented. Here is my solution:

I think disarms should drop the weapon into the inventory and should lag the person being disarmed perhaps one or a half round so people cannot immediately wield their weapon using triggers. This would also give the swashbuckler a chance to disarm/trip lock an opponent and give swashies a fighting chance against some classes they would otherwise be completely dominated by 1 v 1.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Again, there's a problem with disarm?

I'm not seeing it.

All I'm seeing is a trend of a log being posted, and someone, typically named Edoras, making a kneejerk response that something is OP, and so needs changed.

Actually, when the chaos code was implemented one of the very first things I said was that as an unintended side effect disarm was going to be too powerful and extremely frustrating for melee players. I've now had time to consider that, and I have the exact same stance.

So, how about you stop being an idiot and start thinking. A skill which require PCs to have multiple backups of their preferred weapon is extremely dumb and nothing but frustrating, and it encourages zerging other players because of how useful it is to have an extra person to spam disarm or to simply avoid front-row combat at all costs. Not all people play SK only when the odds favor them, and the game should not overly punish people who are willing to go against worse odds or actually put their characters on the front lines.

The only "problem"(and I quote cause it's not really a problem, more of a feature) with disarm is people will start to carry more and more weapons to counteract the weapon being thrown to the ground. It's not really a problem but after that last log with Callie and Alaric it may start to be one, because people may carry more weapons than they should, leaving others in distress and not able to acquire a decent weapon.

Another decent fix to this would be to allow weapons to be picked up during battle but nothing else. Makes sense to me, at least. Like I pointed out my main concern is hoarding of weapons because people will fear being disarmed, and I think that is a legitimate fear. Especially since the player base contains people who will hoard aura specific items just so certain auras cannot use them.
