No I didn't come here to complain about the fact that people can be disarmed, their weapon sent flying to the ground, and them being unable to get it.

I came here to complain about the success rate of this skill. Accuracy doesn't seem to matter anymore. I use a NPC with a lance to disarm NPCs with kamas, this often sends it flying to the ground. I see it succeed nearly every time it is used by PCs, and NPCs. It's no wonder people are spamming the [REDACTED] out of this skill, and hoarding multiple weapons. They need the backups because when someone uses disarm, it has about a 99% chance of working. They spam it, because it's so good.

This [REDACTED] needs looked at. If logs are needed, I'll grab some from my buffer.

While I would love to say that Ardith is QQing, in this instance, he is correct. I believe the success rate of it dropping to the floor and not to just your inventory is wayyyyy too high.

I don't know aobut 99% success, but it's pretty high. Success rate's probably a little lower than bash's.

This probably could be looked at, but I actually propose a different solution: c 'Enchant weapon' Curse. Let weapons be enchanted to be given the curse flag.

give that ability to shamans and necros, and hellions. Via their curse ability. For shamans and Hellions that would be a nice buff.

I agree that disarm is very bad for the game in its current incarnation. I also think that allowing people to pick up weapons during combat would be the best fix.

That said, the disarm check seems to be wicked broken to me. Not sure when it happened though.

I concur.

Disarm is currently [REDACTED].

I don't know about classes who don't have songs of sleep, but when I sing songs of sleep, and use a weapon I have mastered, it doesn't seem to really matter what weapon the enemy uses, their mastery, or if they're swashbucklers (especially swashbucklers).

While using songs of sleep, I believe Tristala had a 100% sucsess rate with disarming.

I actually can attest that this is not true.

Agree with OP. I found it necessary to carry no less than 3 high end weapons and I like to have five....and that's just to go to chzzyrm and fight disarming patrol guards.

Dittos. Although I did manage to disarm a NPC 5 times in a row before finally throwing the weapon from its inventory.

The success rate on disarm does seem to be far too high, and I don't like hoarding all of the good weapons (although, in my case, I don't have to feel too bad about it since very few people like sickles anyway). :-?
