This perplexes me. How many IMMs do you think have gone through the staff and how many do you think have been added? I can only think of the vortices wand, besides the old one that's purchaseable and no-save.

Yeah, I was going to say that the best solution would be to put in a few no-save ethereal pills for sale. This would go a long way toward giving warriors options to finish someone off.

Couldn't horde them, they either dissolved over time or didn't save.

I feel like etherealform pills would be an unnecessary nerf to casters and an unnecessary buff to ranged combat. Casters have already been hit with the nerfbat a lot recently with stance changes and concentration changes. I don't think that BoG needs a buff either, considering how huge of a downside it already is to someone playing a BoGable character. The only reason I would think that this would be a worthwhile change would be because it would buff taunt and thus swashies: But taunt is already a big INT hit to casters if it lands, does it really also need to be a guaranteed kill on any caster it hits?


The only problem I foresee this "solving" is the fact that it's possible for a sorc/necro to run around ethereal and still land kills via charms/controls. However, in most circumstances it is a bad idea for sorcs and necros to be ethereal during a fight. Not only does being ethereal severely hamper their offensive capability, but all it takes is someone else to go ethereal and wreck their day, or a dispel to go through (Which, with impairment, is going to be sooner than later) and then they're front rank with probably no other spells either. If a sorc tries to fight you ethereal, you should be able to just kill his charm and laugh at him. If a necro tries to fight you ethereal and you have no way of forcing him out of it, you should probably just leave.

There are plenty of classes that cannot land a kill on other classes in most 1v1 situations barring a very poor choice on their targets' behalf. This is a fact that is going to be true forever. Adding in etherealform pills will not change this.

I will say that I wouldn't mind the vortices wands being brought down in terms of charges and potency.
