Alaric was a right bastard. He was only really meant as a PK character to figure that whole scene out, and when I realized he needed one his quickly drawn up backstory became that he was born the son of a legionnaire who died on deployment after impregnating his mother, who died giving birth to him. He was raised fighting in Kytar and the rest as they say is history.
I chose aberrant, and tried to follow it. He was a very loyal and forgiving friend until the point at which he made an enemy, at which time he became entirely unforgiving. He was also as truly evil and mad as I could stomach playing, which was truly difficult most of the time. A good exercise in playing a "character" at least. I also tried to portray him as rather simple. Not dumb, really, but simple.
If nothing else, I believe he had the strongest pimp hand of any of his peers.
Skills/spells were mastered except for sling, AoN, suppression, and oddly deep writing.
Particular thanks to the players of (in alphabetical order) Adrastea, Aerlyrsia, Aurenna, Callie, Cendre, Cyndane, Jurath, Kelnith, Surrit, Urizzt, Veloras, and Vermel for being those who come to mind as particularly significant in shaping this character. Particular F U to Trag as well for his shenanigans (you know what I'm talking about, bastardo. Never forget!).
The character held my interest longer than most of mine do - made it to age 48. Finally mustered the urge to login and give him a death in battle, even if it wasn't quite as bad an end as he deserved. Oh well - an RL move has dragged my interest away from mudding for the time being. So long for now. I'm sure I'll be back with another sooner or later.
