I have to admit that I did not like this character. From emoting in tells, something that should be impossible, to logging off to avoid PK, to avoiding PK to set up better opportunities for jumping characters later, hoarding weapons, to griefing low level characters, and new players, he was a terrible character.

I liked this character quite a bit, although I never really had the opportunity to interact much with him even when I had the chance as Adalwulf. Good luck in your move, and when you get settled in I hope to see you again; and don't worry about playing a villain as a villain. It's fun to take a walk on the dark side from time to time, even if the casual stroll becomes a backpacker's hike.

I usually had a difficult time getting RP out of him with characters that were enemies and always got the full loot every time. I was killed a few times with new characters with no RP and still the full loot. My opinion of the character was basically a well-prepared PKer who almost always came when the odds were in his favor, did anything to win despite morals, and relatively no RP. The character had a great PK run, but almost immediately after a PK or two was dished in his direction his log time became less and less. Not to mention the ridiculous hoarding. Better luck with the next.

Aw, so sad to open up the forums and see this post! Alaric was Callie's most complicated enemy, always the source of headaches and confusion.

This character was brilliant and a wonderful enemy, a wonderful character, marvelous at both RP and PK, and completely wonderful to play with. Alaric was the kind of enemy that didn't necessarily seem like the griefing kind, but genuinely made you shake in your boots a bit when dealing with him - yet the game was still fun when you lost to him. Very rare, IMO!

I hope you return, but the MC is definitely has a big void now without an amazing character like Alaric.

A bad guy I loved to hate. Had depth. Had a particular type of twisted honor.
As a character, scary, but not because he could pk on a whim, but because unlike
so many bad guys, he managed better RP than 'me bad, you good, me kill.' or
'your cousin's wife's adopted step-daughter killed me so I'm killing you,' nonsense.
At least when he killed me, I either knew exactly why (bone headed move to participate in
something myself when newer) or I was close enough to a situation through others it
would make sense. Having learned 'don't touch the fire, it's hot,' Gailehn respected Alaric's
space, and eventually he mine...

...On a personal level, he made a strong effort to come up with RP that made sense as a reason
to effectively leave me alone and show strong sportsmanship and a good measure of OOC
character, without compromising his IC/RP nature. Others could stand to learn this lesson.

Beastly character, and respectable player. Best wishes with future endeavors off and back in the game.

This is so true.

Alaric was a great example of a well-built character that also had a very distinct evil personality. I was kind of hoping that I would eventually get the chance to betray Alaric, but alas, it was not meant to be.
