A fun idea comes to mind reading some posts about tribunals... How about a mercenary list?

A global list of neutral mercenaries available to all tribunal leaders. It is a list of super tough NPCs be they some kind of creature like a dragon or a person that could be based off of old age-dead characters.

The thing is, for their 10-20 obsidian prices, the would be tough enough to take on a party of 1 (with guard and pet) easily, and present a challenge to parties of 2-3. Their pay would make them available against offenders who have at least 20 crimes listed (or perhaps variable and to be set by tribunal leaders, or by specific name even) and the pay would be for one IC month's worth of protection.

They would be completely AI and un-commandable. If one is defeated, it will not re-spawn unless bought again, otherwise if it is successful or retreated from, it will return for the remainder of it's month of service.

Just an idea some tribunal leaders might find intriguing.

Kinda like the mercs from Warhammer Fantasy... Sounds fun!

Disclaimer: My post is in no way related to Warhammer or any other game. If it were related to a game, it would be comparable to Heroes of Might and Magic. But it is not related and that comparison was an after though.
