Voodoo and Final Strike need removed and Charm Person needs to be NPC only. Problems solved!

I must be missing wherever you can buy protection herbs for 5 plat an hour.

I'd still bet good money that a caster with racial resistance, sanc and protection up will die to a high damage voodoo, and a caster lacking any of those (guaranteed if the shaman is grey aura) will die to a normal voodoo from a max wis max mana shaman with nothing but storebought mana mods. Consider the fact that a human sorc gets one shotted by magma without sanc and protection. How much more damage do you think voodoo does than magma?

My sprite necro with max CON and even some HP trains got taken down 66% by a voodoo from a sprite shaman with no +mana gear, surely with less than max mana trains, and at the time his ME wasn't even at 100%. I'd bet that a human/gnome shaman with max mana/max wis and just storebought +mana jewelry is going to easily have twice the mana as said sprite.

All theorycrafting, surely, but I stand by this conclusion. If you choose to play a non-melee race, you go into it acknowledging that at any point in time you could instantly die to voodoo unless you are an MR race with max CON and have sanc + protection up 24/7. If they happen to have a doll of you then you should just be ready to die at any point.

Out of curiosity, when talys hit you with a full-blown mana voodoo, how much did that do?

Talys has voodoo'd me once when I was at 100% and died, but it was probably with a doll. I didn't have sanc/prot and was also d/ced.

The only reason I personally have for keeping voodoo is the absurd difference in killability between melee and casters.

It's good for casters to have this over their head.

If melee and casters were more balanced, I'd be 100% for tossing voodoo but as it stands I can only get about 70% behind it.

I'm very certain that it sounds good right now for casters to have this hanging over their head, considering that your character is currently the one doing all the holding and is also completely immune to voodoo.

Casters have been nerfed plenty in recent updates.

I am p sure I previously stated I think voodoo needs removed in this thread.

Voodoo is unlikely to be removed however. That's a fact. Here are some other facts. Voodoo is usually only a threat to casters. Melee chars are a lot easier to kill than casters. Melee chars are p much immune to voodoo. These facts may or may not be part of why Dulrik has afaik, never so much as deigned to respond to a voodoo qq thread in the past few years.

Strangely, voodoo is the biggest threat to the classes with zap ethereal. I imagine this is why most people really don't care either way about voodoo.

In closing, go away eddy.

I'm not a fan of feeling like I have to constantly throw away consumables solely for voodoo. That would require a pretty hefty amount of orchids to maintain.

Not to get too into a [REDACTED] fest over chars we're playing, but I don't feel too great about having to constantly eat haste, sanc herbs, armor herbs, and such not to get ganked by your necro in 1 round when I want to hang out in an inn. But I do it without posting threads, because it's part of playing a char that wants to not die all the time.
