 Post subject: CRS and soloing guardians.

So I got to thinking about some logs of some bad asses soloing CRS. While it's doable, I had an idea on how to make it somewhat harder. Why not make one guardian immune to melee damage, the other immune to spell damage. The one immune to melee can have less HP but it would require at least 2-3 people to take down, one caster, one tank / warrior. This would make it near impossible, if not impossible to take down guardians solo.

Thoughts?

I rather like that idea; however, I think it would be very difficult to beat the magic guardian with a standard raid group. Sounds, to this noob, that you'd need to fill the ranks with a line of front-row melee fighters, second-row healers, and third-row spell lobbers.

That's kind of the point. It means you'd need an actual group, duo or trio instead of one lone warrior / zerker going quaff quaff quaff quaff. There is no tactics in quaffing heals. You would need sorcs or warlocks or something to do damage to them. Much like you must have priests or sorcs to enchant your gear.

Okay. Well, you don't want them to be soloed, but you do want it to be doable, right? Can you name any factions that have consistently had a full roster that could consistently come up with this setup?

I'm totally just playing devil's advocate here, for the record.

Then the physical immune guardian should not be doing any blasts or powerful ranged attacks, since all casters have crappy HP.

After these changes ain't no one gonna be soloing any guardians without 100 heal vials.

Doesn't stop Necros from soloing guardians. In many ways, could make it easier.

necros also got nerfed, they solo guardians because of melee damage.

I don't follow. Wouldn't the addition of speed as an enchantment to weapons make necro raiding easier? Their undead never had any saves anyway, and their potential dps went up, no?

I -think- he means that necros would be nerfed by this change because they cannot solo a guardian with damage spells before running out of mana.
