Nightwing, while I understand the temptation of saying that paladins should be buffed in some way to make them capable of standing on par with a necro. Most of the player base though is tired of the NPC wars. To buff the paladin the ways you suggest would require them to buff their pets or get new pets. It wasn't suggested because most of us agrees that isn't the solution.

So I've been watching the logs where the necro's come in with alot of undead and their escape button for ethereal. They go ethereal but still can just wipe people with undead. My thought is that the ethereal form was for escape not "hahahaha you can't get me but I can get you!" Why not make it so that if said necro goes ethereal their undead drop because the necro isn't on that plane of reality anymore to supply their magic. Just a thought I had from reading logs :drunk:

want to point out to nightwing that I don't see any QQ here about wimping necro's or taking away, taking away the key phrase since people think that's what I was suggesting, ethereal form. I'm actually here suggesting something that will balance out the PvP with a necro, if you go ethereal at 100% and still kill 2+ people and send the rest running, that seems wrong. You all get hopped up on what other people said in the thread and seem to be getting over heated if you actually think this is a QQ, heck a necro 1.5 rounded one of the strongest scout pets, then came and killed me while I was laughing and telling someone about it, doesn't bother me one bit. I play the weakest classes most of the time, swashbuckler being my favorite class. But then again I'm just an Rper who knows some game mechanics, i wouldn't even say I'm a veteran player, I just tend to have a good memory about where I find stuff but also tend to forget alot of stuff as well. Though I am glad for all the opinions.

If he's a veteran player with an opinion worth considering then he shouldn't feel the need to roll a sockpuppet account just to post about how necros should be nerfed again.

Although to Ardith's last statement, I never felt the need to run and hide from necros on my last peacekeeper character. In fact, I actually PKed the only active one into deletion without help from any other PCs.

I never felt the need to run and hide either, I just recognize the massive difficulty in encountering your necromancer, because not only will you bring animated undead, you try to throw bards and crap into the equation because you're desperate to try to gank my character since you have something to prove.

P.S. you don't have what it takes to kill Tolene.

I think mirror image should be sorc only. Necros are OP'd if anything because of constant mirror image.

The pro players that are against this idea are completely ignoring the PvE arguments. Whereas I think that is a very good reason to make a change.

I am leaning toward making wraiths less bash-ful. But I would do that by making them a less melee capable class in general. Not sure which that is yet. Hellion with no spells/intimidate?

But to make it more interesting than just an outright nerf, I recall hearing old suggestions of allowing high level corpses to be turned into any type of animate. I think zombies and skeletons might be relevant choices at that point.

Would be cool to see a necro army that is more varied than just 8 wraiths.

Zombies in a game without shotguns? You're crazy.

I'm not sure that really would change anything from a gameplay perspective since the controls will still be able to bash (and a good portion of the time they are the ones hitting it anyway).

Make them bards with no songs/dancing to help limit their damage output/zerg. Or maybe a warlock with no spells, that way all they're limited in what kind of "high end damage" weapons they can use.

I believe the clear choice is to make wraiths bards so necromancers can start spamming "order all b aug"
