That's what invis is for; but, for serious. Sneak + Plate mail = comedy.

Funny how I argued about this same thing in the past. Hiding and Sneaking in full Plate seems a little off.

As for them having the spell Fear, I'd have to vote no.

Could someone please explain to me why a Knight who regards himself as "honorable" would use Hide and Sneak? Invis I can almost understand, but the Hide and Sneak skills seem silly for someone in plate mail.

That's why.

His word is sacred, sure. But he never said he wasn't gonna sneak up on you, tap you on the shoulder, and then cleave your head off.

The code Hellions are bound to seems to heavily discourage doing that.

Help Code wrote:
To attack without issuing a challenge shows weakness, in that the target must be overcome unawares (like a thief or assassin) and could not be beaten fairly.

Yeah, it gets a little fuzzy there. Why have sneak and hide if they weren't meant to use them to either a) sneak up on someone or b) sneak away (neither of which are particularly 'honorable' actions).

Someone made a good post a while back (ardith, i think?) about how, for the Hellion, its more like "If you don't have the skill/foresight/whatever to overcome my dirty tricks, you don't deserve to beat me."

They get intimidate, which handles a certain "fear" aspect of their class. They don't need the actual fear spell.

You have no idea how much I hate that you said that.

Part of the RP about the hellion is that he is a dominating presence. It really adds to the "scary" when you realize that he could be anywhere at any mome.. OH NO LOOK BEHIND YOU!!!

That's why I think they get sneak and hide. It's like the scary movie villain that always disappears as soon as he's off camera no matter how big he is.

Exactly. He is like a vengeful shadow that will keep to his word and kill you. He may have warned you first. But he is not a paladin, he will not challenge you on the spot to fight you.
