Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I am wondering if any of you have experience w/playing the game on a tablet. I am leaving the country for a week and a half and was considering purchasing a Kindle Fire HD for reading/movies and was wondering how it would do as a substitute to my PC to get my SK fix in.

Again, my computer knowledge is scarce at best... can mud clients be loaded on to such a device?

There is no tablet experience that can match a laptop/desktop for playing a MUD. However, I have used the Android app called Blowtorch for light-duty use of connecting to the MUD while out and about. It would be best used to explore. RP would be possible depending on how good you are with a touch-screen keypad. But you will have to be satisfied with dying against all but the most inept PKers.

BTW, since you brought up your prospective tablet of choice, I will have to take this opportunity to plug my employer's tablet instead - the NOOK HD. Barnes & Noble, who is the company behind NOOK, is an inadvertent sponsor of SK due to my paycheck from them covering 95% of the expenses of the game. By supporting B&N instead of it's arch-nemesis Amazon, you would be helping to support SK.

Thanks for fast reply!

I'm not heavy into the PK or whatnot at this point anyway. The exploring thing may end up suiting me fine.

I'll definitely give the NOOK a look as well. Will probably go to the dreaded realm of Best Buy as I have some Xmas gift cards to burn. I'll do a comparison then.
