After reading the discussion, does this still seem like a good idea to you to bridge the gap?
(5) Yes, I think this is a great idea to bridge the gap, despite any possible side-effects. 38%  38%  [ 25 ]

Then all they needed to do was junk everything in the corpse..

No, if you die by losing the flight effect over an air-flagged room, your gear and corpse are automatically destroyed. This also allowed you to get kills without getting a murder charge in your victim's memory.

People under charm are also restricted from doing anything but says, socials and emotes now too, because again, a few jerk weasles would do nothing but spam tells and CBs about where they were and who was holding them, in direct violation of the RP required by charm. They would also do things like change group formation, sit down to avoid being taken anywhere, and generally abuse loopholes in the RP allowed by the code. Now, if you get charmed, you might as well just walk away from the keys almost because you are literally prevented from doing just about anything at all.

I do not believe hate is appropriate, but if you choose to hate, that hate is misdirected. You should hate humanity, not the pbase, because there is nothing all that unique about this particular group of humans as opposed to the average of humanity.

PS. Wow did I just say that? No doubt many people will wish to dispute this...

Right, well, it's just one example of how the actions of the few end up resulting in code changes and coding time devoted to creating these kinds of solutions that affect the majority, even if the majority would not bother to use the "loopholes" that the pre-existing code allowed for.

So call it what you will, and take it as you will, it's still been proven to be a necessary mindset to approach possibly abuseable code solutions with.

No. It's not a matter of trust, it's just too easy to get away with it. The staff should not be responsible for monitoring anything that can be automated. It only results in more perceived unfairness. That said, if you think someone is a hoarder, report it and there is a (not guaranteed) possibility that an admin will look into and, if appropriate, address the issue.


As long as we don't have clear rules on how many pieces of xtra armor/weapons/stuff you can't even use hoarding will continue. Players are allowed to hold onto weapons/armor/staves/... that just sits in their inventory so that their enemies cannot do use it, at least that is their 'RP' reason. It is flaunted and no one even cares about this type of hoarding.

Would it be more appropriate to say you hate human nature, rather than you hate humanity? (That might be accepted better by people).

I have been constantly blown out of the water today by your attempts to divorce concepts that are intertwined. Hatred of human nature is identical to hatred of humanity, since humanity is defined by its nature. Logical fallacies are kind of your forte, eh?
