Aelandron, OA and Finney are pretty trollish and will never change their mind on anything, so I wouldn't bother arguing with them.

I don't like the idea because it doesn't seem as if it would help the game. However neat the concept may sound, in practice it wouldn't be fun, and it would require extra unnecessary coding.

Meh, cannot win them all, though I would have fun with this one. I've seen this work on other muds, but yes, I wouldn't necessarily rate it high on the code chain. I've said that through out the post too. (Though the prevelance of consumeables wasn't so great on that mud, in part because brew was a particular cabal skill).

There were also limits to the number of potions you could consume in a timeframe as I recall.

I'm also not inclined to reiterate everything again, for those whose jaw just dropped. Ha!

As for this suggestion, I think it is interesting and not entirely meritless. Particularly from the viewpoint of not wanting combat to be determined by potion wars. But even if everyone universally adored the idea, it still would be pretty far down my priority list.

I've suggested putting a cooldown on quaffing potions before (in this thread), which I still think is a good idea that doesn't introduce any sort of time sink like the suggestion in this thread.

Just sayin'.
